Please find the newsletter for this month in the Parents section of the VLE. You should also have received an electronic copy. To access the parents' page you will need your child/children's log in. Thanks
If you go to Parents page on the VLE you will find a really comprehensive e-safety section. These resources will be of use when engaging with your children about how to use the internet safely and responsibly.
National Safer Internet Day is Tuesday 6th February. We will be offering parents a session at 2pm and working with our children on the message 'Create, connect and share respect: a better internet starts with you.'
We had two lovely Christmas trees this year and instead of throwing them out when we closed, we offered them on a first come first served basis. Two families took us up on our offer. This is where the Junior tree ended it's Christmas!
Hopefully if you are a parent of a child in Miss Hall or Mrs Elder's class you will have received notice of the Stay and Play sessions we are offering.
* Tuesday 16th January 9.00-9.45 Maths

We would like to wish all our families and friends a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2018.
The weather for this part of the year is uncertain at the moment. It is likely that we may have some more snow and freezing temperatures. We will close the school only if absolutely necessary e.g. for health and safety reasons. If it is snowing and you have not received an alert on your phone you should presume that school is open as usual. We will keep in touch with you via text messages and messages on the web-page & VLE. If you could also keep an eye on these pages for updates that would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please find attached our last newsletter of 2017. We wish all our friends, families and our children the very best Christmas and New Year ever.
Staockport has launched an online directory that lists community groups, services and activities. It can be accessed at

Welcome to the Moorfield Digital Leaders
We would like to introduce you to this year’s Moorfield Digital Leaders. Please have a look on the Parents section of the VLE
The Digital Leaders will meet fortnightly to discuss how to further improve ICT in school. Our Digital leaders will help us to organise Safer Internet days. They will try out new software and apps and share their skills with other pupils, classes and teachers! They will talk to other pupils about staying safe online and help to run Computer clubs.
We have two new teams of Year 6 who will be our restorative buddies this year. They will be supporting Infants and pre-school at dinnertime. Congratulations to all those children selected. The list is on the Head's page.
Congratulations as well to our new school council representatives. I look forward to hearning all your ideas.
