We would like to thank a fantastic group of parents and children who rolled up their sleeves and formed a working party to sort out the allotment plot last weekend. Our stars are The Alldred family, The Bohansmiths, The Longdens the Mennies and the Leighs. We are really grateful for their hard work and support.
Please see the results of this year's walk to school fortnight on the head teacher's page. Well done to all our 100s of children who walked, scooted or cycled during the fortnight.
Mrs Challinor is due to have an operation and will be off school for a few weeks recovering. To accommodate this 4KW have changed their Parents' Appointment dates so that you can meet with both teachers.
The afternoon appointments will be Tuesday 7th November between 1.00- 2.30pm and Wednesday 8th November between 5.00-8.00pm
Welcome to the Moorfield Digital Leaders
We would like to introduce you to this year’s Moorfield Digital Leaders. Please have a look on the Parents section of the VLE
The Digital Leaders will meet fortnightly to discuss how to further improve ICT in school. Our Digital leaders will help us to organise Safer Internet days. They will try out new software and apps and share their skills with other pupils, classes and teachers! They will talk to other pupils about staying safe online and help to run Computer clubs.
We have two new teams of Year 6 who will be our restorative buddies this year. They will be supporting Infants and pre-school at dinnertime. Congratulations to all those children selected. The list is on the Head's page.
Congratulations as well to our new school council representatives. I look forward to hearning all your ideas.
Congratulations to all the children who took part in this year's elections. The representatives for each class were announced during this morning's assembly. Please click on the link above to reveal Moorfield's new School Council. Our first meeting is on Wednesday 20th September and we have already made our first democratic decision - toast will be our pre-meeting snack!
We have had the most amazing start to our new year and our children have already knuckled down to working hard. Our Reception children have now joined us and it was a nearly tear free start for children and their parents.
There is a new Head's blog on the website and the teachers are setting up their VLE pages. Make sure you can access those. Any issues with the VLE or mathletics access please see Mrs Allen our school business manager.
Also make sure we have all your current contact details including mobile phone numbers and email addresses.
I have started to put in the school diary dates into the VLE calendar and will update this throughout the year.
We know our children are fantastic but it’s always nice to be told by others!
We have had a relief chef in for a few weeks and he was so impressed by the manners and behaviour of our children he wanted to let them know.
He carved this fantastic watermelon in his own time to let the children know how great they are.
